Your Impact
As Dining Room Manager, you will oversee all front-of-house dining operations, ensuring residents and guests receive exceptional service while maintaining a welcoming and elegant dining atmosphere. You'll lead, coach, and inspire a team dedicated to delivering restaurant-quality service in a senior living environment.
What You'll Do
Leadership & Team Development
- Recruit, train, coach, and evaluate dining room team members
- Partner with the Director of Signature Dining on hiring and training initiatives
- Develop team members on service standards, hospitality expectations, and customer satisfaction best practices
- Conduct ongoing training, team meetings, and performance coaching
- Create staffing schedules and daily assignments to ensure efficient service operations
- Foster a positive culture built on professionalism, teamwork, and accountability
- Serve as an active member of the community leadership team
Dining Room Operations
- Oversee daily dining room service across all dining venues within the community
- Lead by example by actively participating in meal service and supporting dining room operations
- Ensure team members are knowledgeable about menus, dietary accommodations, allergies, and resident preferences
- Maintain high standards for food presentation, service etiquette, and resident engagement
- Monitor dining room cleanliness, organization, and readiness before, during, and after meal periods
- Implement and oversee cleaning schedules for dining and service areas
- Ensure proper sanitation and safe food handling procedures at all times
- Coordinate private dining reservations and special event dining services
- Assist with community events, celebrations, and marketing functions as needed
Resident Experience
- Build strong relationships with residents, families, and guests
- Address concerns, gather feedback, and continually seek opportunities to enhance satisfaction
- Promote a culture of hospitality that exceeds expectations
- Champion a "Do Whatever It Takes" approach to resident service
Compliance & Financial Oversight
- Operate within established budget guidelines
- Maintain compliance with OSHA standards and all applicable state and local regulations
- Ensure team members follow food safety, sanitation, and company policies
- Support community operational goals and service standards
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of food service experience
- Minimum 3 years of dining room management experience
- Strong leadership, coaching, and team development skills
- Exceptional customer service and hospitality mindset
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Word and Excel
- Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, team members, and vendors
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in both restaurant and senior living environments
- Background leading high-volume hospitality or dining operations
- Knowledge of senior living dining service standards
Additional Requirements
- Current CPR/First Aid certification (or ability to maintain)
- Current Food Handler certification
- Annual continuing education requirements
- Ability to meet all applicable health, food safety, and regulatory requirements
- Successful completion of pre-employment physical, drug screening, TB testing, and criminal background check
Schedule
- Full-time position
- Must be available for occasional evenings, weekends, and holiday rotations as needed
