Look no further as we currently have an opening for an Engineering Director to join our Maintenance team! Our Engineering Director manages a staff of 15 (maintenance, housekeeping and night security) while overseeing the maintenance of the community building, grounds and vehicles.
What You'll Do: Director of Engineering | Maintenance Director
Develop, oversee and ensure that the community adheres to a preventative maintenance schedule for all building systems including HVAC, fire sprinklers and alarms, lighting, plumbing, elevators, roofing, landscape, kitchen equipment, laundry equipment, and vehicles.
Drafts, negotiates, and administers contracts with vendors relating to above systems and evaluates performance of contractors
Ensures department and project goals and milestones are met adhering to approved department or project budgets.
Maintains strong working relationships with all vendors relating to above systems.
Ensure an adequate inventory of maintenance supplies and equipment
In conjunction with the Executive Director, develops and oversees the engineering department budget and ensures projects are completed within budget.
Ensures work orders for minor repairs and/or maintenance in occupied resident apartments are completed in a timely manner.
Determine major repair work and make recommendations to Executive Director
Develops and oversees Community Safety Program including fire and evacuation drills, disaster planning, emergency systems and workplace safety.
Ensures compliance with state and federal safety regulations
Responsible for hiring, training, supervising and evaluating the performance of the maintenance and housekeeping departments.
Responsible for ensuring all common areas are maintained in a clean and sanitary manner via management of the housekeeping staff
What We're Looking For: Assistant Engineering Director | Assistant Maintenance Director
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in facility maintenance required
Previous experience in a senior living setting highly preferred
Previous management experience in a related setting
Basic proficiency in computer skills, including word and excel
Previous experience in Yardi and TELS a plus
Proficient skills in plumbing, electrical, painting, carpentry, general repairs and landscape maintenance
Strong documentation/organization skills
Ability to re-prioritize to accommodate fluctuating needs of the residents and community
Must be ablet to read, comprehend, write, and speak English to effectively communicate with residents, guests and other team members
Must meet all health-related and/or food-handling requirements pertaining to local and state regulatory agencies
